Your initial appointment with Dr. Schwartz will include a consultation, during which time he will explain your diagnosis and the recommended treatment, review your medical history, inform you what to expect during your recovery, and answer any questions you may have. Most procedures such as extractions and minor biopsies are performed the same day. However, a complex medical history, or treatment plan, will first require an evaluation appointment, and then a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial appointment:
Please alert our office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office via mail or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them with you. Even though you may have recent routine dental films, we frequently need to take a special x-ray called a panorex to more carefully and fully evaluate your teeth and the surrounding bone. If additional films are necessary, we will take them at our office.
For your protection, our office uses heat sterilization, disposable barriers and ADA/EPA/CDC approved disinfection agents.
A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 years at the time of the consultation visit.
